Family Resources & Schools
Finding the best education, day care, or recreational opportunities for your children is a high priority for you and your family. The University of Chicago and affiliated organizations and institutions provide a variety resources, including schools, pre-school education, and recreation, for children of all ages. Here you will find links to some of those resources.
Family Resource Center
Supportive services for student families are provided by the Family Resource Center, which is administered by the Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA). The center offers free and low-cost programming, lectures, and classes, as well as opportunities to form babysitting exchanges. The center houses a playroom and an information kiosk, and there are spaces for nursing and changing diapers. For location and hours, visit the Office of Graduate Affairs
Schools and Day Care
Hyde Park offers a variety of child day-care options. Cooperative day-care networks are popular, particularly among parents who live in University graduate student housing. In addition, there are many schools in Hyde Park, including the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.
